~ Inner tides. Outer tides. Living systems. ~
~ Salt & Cycle ~
Salt & Cycle are ocean-based immersions for women and feminine-aligned people exploring the relationship between inner cycles and the living rhythms of the sea.
Held on the wild Otways coastline, and based there as a home ground with immersive experiences also offered in selected coastal locations across Australia, these experiences weave together marine ecology, cyclical living, embodied practice and ocean craft to support reconnection with self, body, nature and place.
Salt & Cycle is grounded in the understanding that we are cyclical beings within cyclical systems. Reconnecting with these rhythms supports:
regulation and wellbeing
clarity and resilience
belonging and connection
a more reciprocal relationship with the natural world
This work is about returning to relationship - to self, body, ocean, place, community, and the wider living systems we are part of.
Immersion experiences
Across all Salt & Cycle offerings, themes include ocean connection, cyclical awareness, embodied practice and coastal ecology.
Experiences are offered in three formats depending on depth of immersion.
~ Day Immersions ~
A focused entry point into Salt & Cycle themes.
Accessible single-day experiences in ocean connection, embodied awareness and coastal ecology.
~ Weekend Immersions (2–3 days) ~
A more extended coastal immersion offering deeper engagement with ocean systems, cyclical awareness and place-based learning.
These immersions provide a concentrated experience of Salt & Cycle practices within a shorter timeframe.
~ 7-Day Salt & Cycle Immersion ~
A full week-long coastal immersion exploring ocean craft, marine ecology, cyclical living and the relationship between inner and outer tides. This is the most in-depth Salt & Cycle experience.
The immersion may include
Cyclical living and cycle awareness (where relevant), including the relationship between inner cycles, lunar phases and ocean tides
Guided snorkelling and ocean immersion experiences with a marine biologist
Marine ecology learning and coastal interpretation
Citizen science and contribution to marine conservation
Learning to read tides, currents and coastal systems
Reflective shoreline practices and nature journalling
Movement, rest and embodied ocean-based practices (including somatic movement, breathwork, meditation, sensory awareness and optional expressive movement or dance), in connection with the sea
Cold-water ocean immersion and optional guided swims (subject to conditions and participant comfort)
Strandlooping and beach-combing practices
Ocean-craft workshops using natural shoreline materials
Coastal food knowledge and seasonal ocean harvesting (where appropriate and permitted)
Nourishing seasonal meals are provided throughout the immersion.
All experiences are facilitated by qualified practitioners across marine science, facilitation and embodied practice.
~ Optional creative & experiential expansion ~
Future or seasonal elements may also include
Seaweed pressing and ocean botanical art
Driftwood carving (tools, spoons, talismans)
Shell and fibre wind chimes or mobiles
Sea jewellery and adornment making
“Reconnecting with our own inner tides ans the tides of the ocean supports not only personal wellbeing, but a deeper awareness of our role within broader ecological systems under increasing climate pressure.”
